Robert Pashaian is a self taught sculptor whose work is imbued with a sense of passion. These qualities are born out in the gestural and expressive interpretation of his sculpture. Robert's medium of choice is clay with subsequent casting in various materials including resins, bonded bronze and solid bronze depending upon the client's preference. He will occasionally add subtle touches of other materials in the finished piece.

Portrait sculpture has become a special niche for Robert. He enjoys the challenges it presents in capturing a likeness from a few photographs. But the most satisfying and rewarding aspect of portrait sculpture is seeing the reaction of a client and knowing that you not only created a likeness but that you have touched the essence of their loved one.

Needing a diversion from business Robert turned his attention to sculpting in 1986 and earned recognition taking "Best in Show" honors in the 1989 New Jersey Center for Visual Arts annual exhibition, a mixed medium exhibition including more than 200 entrants. His work has been shown at numerous galleries including a one man show at the David Gary Gallery, Short Hills, N.J.

Since moving to Georgia in 1990, Robert has shown his work at numerous galleries in the
greater Atlanta area.
